For people who ask a lot of themselves
Long days, decisions that count, and a workout squeezed in between. You know your body is the foundation. Yet in the rush, you guess at what it gets every day. One finger prick at home gives you a number instead of a guess.
This is what our customers, orthomolecular therapists and kPNI experts swear by.
Sound familiar?
You come last on your own list. And you know it.
You are in survival mode
Work first, yourself "after this project". Only there is always a next project.
Your day runs on coffee
It works, every single day. Until one day it does not.
Too much noise, too little signal
Cold showers, zone 2, twenty supplements. A new trend every week. You want to know what works for you.
You train hard, and your body has to keep up
Forty-five minutes flat out between two meetings, week after week. Rest feels like lost time.
Where it rubs
Your body is made for moving, daylight, rest after effort and food from nature, with fish and game. Today you live differently. Three things have changed in one generation.
You live indoors, and the pressure keeps going
Hours of sitting, screens until late, stress without a break and little daylight. Your body makes vitamin D mostly in the sun, and in Belgium there often is not enough of it, especially in winter.
Superior Health Council (Belgium)What is on your plate has changed
Less oily fish, more processed food and vegetable oils high in omega-6. The Superior Health Council (Belgium) recommends fish once or twice a week, one of those times oily fish. Count how often you manage that.
Superior Health Council (Belgium), dietary recommendationsThe sea is not what it used to be
PCBs, dioxins and heavy metals end up in the sea and build up in the fat of fish. So they end up in fish oil too, if it is not thoroughly purified and tested.
That is why purity belongs on paper
What is in the sea ends up in the fish.
And what is in the bottle is not always on the label.
What research shows
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential: your body makes little or none of them itself, so they have to come from food. Yet almost every adult who was measured is below the target value.
of 500 employees tested were below the target value of 8% for the omega-3 index. On average they reached 4.1%.
Rein et al., Nutrients, 2020 · Germany, 500 participantsis the average omega-3 index in Belgian research. The target value is 8%.
Schuchardt et al., Progress in Lipid Research, 2024 · 149 participantsof vitamin D per day is what Belgians get from food on average. The Superior Health Council (Belgium) recommends 15 µg for adults.
Sciensano, Food Consumption Survey 2022-2023These are figures about groups. They say nothing about you. Where you stand, you only know once you measure.
What you measure
You do not need another routine. You need a filter: your own number.
A drop of blood on a card, at home, in two minutes. The lab measures your omega-3 index and the balance between omega-6 and omega-3. It is a measurement and it promises nothing: your own number is the starting point. Already doing well? Then you hear that too, and you may not need us.
You test at home
A finger prick, a few drops of blood on a card, and you send it off. An independent lab measures your omega-3 index and the balance between omega-6 and omega-3 in your blood.
One fixed routine
Every day the oil, a daily tablet and a capsule of D3 with K2. Delivered to your home every month, fresh from the plant.
You test again
After five months you do a second test. A red blood cell lives about 120 days, so by then you see the difference in a number.
Example of a result
The number says nothing about how you feel. It shows how much omega-3 your body took in over the past months.
Not every bottle is the same
Fish oil oxidises. In the bottle too.
The dose
The EU recognises that EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA. Many capsules provide 300 to 600 mg per daily dose, the oil we recommend 1.4 to 2 grams.
Freshness
Fish oil oxidises, in the bottle too. The TOTOX value tells you how far. The oil we recommend scores 4.8 on the certificate of analysis, the international standard is 26. Bottled under nitrogen, straight from the plant.
Origin
Cod from the Barents Sea, processed on board within fifteen minutes of the catch, purified with bentonite clay and activated charcoal. The QR code on the bottle shows where and when the fish was caught.
Fish oil supplements in New Zealand are highly oxidised and do not meet label content of n-3 PUFA
"83% products exceeded the recommended PV levels"
of 32 fish oil supplements tested were above the recommended peroxide value. Only 3 contained what the label promised.
Five questions for every brand
We held 30 fish oil brands you can buy here, in shops or online, up to the same five questions. What does each brand show publicly about the oil you buy?
Analysis of the final product
Was the oil analysed as it is in the bottle or capsule, and not only the raw material before processing?
of 30 brands show this publiclyTOTOX with date and batch
Is the oxidation value shown with a date and a batch number, so you know which production it is about?
of 30 brands show this publiclyHeavy metals, dioxins and PCBs in figures
Do you see actual measured values, or only the sentence “meets the standards”?
of 30 brands show this publiclyOrigin and certificate
Do you know which fish it is and where it was caught, with an independent certificate such as MSC or IFOS?
of 30 brands show this publiclyMeasurement in your own blood
Can you measure with the brand whether the oil changes anything for you, with an omega-3 test before and after?
of 30 brands show this publiclyShown: you can check it yourself, in a report with measured values, with a batch number, or in a certificate you can find in a register. Partly: part of it is online, for example a TOTOX value without a batch number. Not found: we found no document or figure.

Not found means we could not find it online at the brand or in a public register, not that it doesn't exist.
The oil we recommend is deliberately not in this list, so the comparison of the others stays neutral.
What the label does not tell you
Two jars with the same name on the label can be completely different. Magnesium is not just magnesium, and folate is not just folate. It comes down to the form, the dose and what gets measured.
| What to look for | What we recommend | What you often see |
|---|---|---|
| Form of the omega-3 | Natural triglycerides, not concentrated | Ethyl esters*, or re-esterified rTG that the label simply calls “triglycerides” |
| EPA and DHA dose | 1.4 to 2 g per day | 300 to 600 mg per daily dose |
| Oxidation (TOTOX) | 4.8 on the certificate of analysis, the international standard is 26. Bottled under nitrogen, olive oil with polyphenols keeps the oil stable after opening | Rarely on the label, because it does not have to be |
| Completeness of the oil | Around 40 fatty acids, as in the fish: at least 15 omega-3 fatty acids, plus omega 5, 7 and 9 | Only EPA and DHA as a concentrate, the other fatty acids are lost |
| Origin and freshness | Cod from the Barents Sea, processed in Norway and delivered directly. QR code on the bottle | Anchovy from the other side of the world, kept for years in capsules |
| Magnesium | Bisglycinate, malate and marine hydroxide | Magnesium oxide* |
| Folate | Quatrefolic (5-MTHF), the active form | Folic acid, which the body first has to convert |
| Vitamin B12 and B6 | Methylcobalamin and pyridoxal 5-phosphate | Cyanocobalamin and pyridoxine |
| Zinc and selenium | Zinc bisglycinate and selenomethionine | Zinc oxide and sodium selenite* |
| Vitamin K | K2 as MK-7, 200 µg, always together with D3 | A high dose of vitamin D without K2 |
* In comparative research these forms were absorbed less well than natural triglycerides, bisglycinate and selenomethionine. The comparison is about what is common on the shelf. It does not cover every product on the market.
kPNI therapists, orthomolecular nutrition experts and sports scientists in Flanders publicly recommend this composition and use it in their own programmes. They are not affiliated with this page.

Sustainable and close by
Quality starts at the source. Cold Norwegian waters, processed without detours: no transport from South America or Africa, no middlemen, no years on a shelf.
Within a quarter of an hour of the catch, the oil is extracted on board, and then processed further in Norway.
Extracted from cod biomass that fishermen would otherwise throw overboard.
Some of the strictest fisheries laws in the world, with quotas, protected areas and a ban on throwing bycatch back.
Waste heat from production warms the labs and offices, and seawater helps with cooling.
What makes this oil different? Click to open the details.
Very low oxidationTOTOX 4.8
- The international standard is 26.
- Bottled under nitrogen, so without contact with oxygen.
- Straight from the plant to your door: the oil is usually only a few months old. Softgels often sit on a shelf for 2 to 3 years.
Stable after openingNo rancid fish smell
- Blended with organic olive oil from centuries-old Greek olive trees.
- Even at the end of the month, the bottle does not smell rancid.
Natural triglyceride formNo EE, no rTG
- The body recognises the natural form, and it is absorbed well.
- Cheap, high-dose supplements are almost always esters.
PurityBentonite clay and activated charcoal
- Extracted from cod biomass.
- Purified with bentonite clay and activated charcoal, which removes heavy metals and other unwanted substances almost entirely.
TraceableQR code on every bottle
- The oil is extracted on board within 15 minutes of the catch.
- The QR code shows where and when the fish was caught.

Why we do this
Two people who get to the bottom of things.

Jeroen Sienaert
Lead it, GrowTen years ago I got into health, five years ago into marketing. For years I compared labels and asked for analysis reports, for myself and my family. René brought the last piece of the puzzle: a product whose quality is on paper, and a test that shows whether it does something for you.

René De Rop
Orthomolecular therapist, coach and speakerI was a combat soldier for 17 years, 6 of them with a side job as a personal trainer and lifestyle coach. After that I studied orthomolecular therapy, and got hooked on what happens inside the human cell. Since then, as a speaker, I show people how they can work on their health with food and lifestyle.
You are not on your own
Behind this page is a network of orthomolecular therapists, kPNI experts and coaches. They measure and keep track of your values, and they also look at your whole life: what you eat, how you move, how you rest and what your day looks like. With one goal: that you feel as good as you can in your life, today and thirty years from now.
Your number, explained
No report that disappears into a drawer. Someone goes through your result with you, in plain language, and also tells you when you are already doing well.
Someone stays with you
Between your two tests you can come to us with your questions. After five months you put the two numbers side by side, together.
Your whole lifestyle
Food, movement, rest and breathing. If you want to go further than a supplement, we put you in touch with a specialist near you who fits.
How you see for yourself whether it works
The proof is your own second number.
Your blood, measured twice. After five months you put the two side by side and decide for yourself how to go on.
Six months fixed, and we tell you up front. After that it continues monthly until you cancel. You can pause through customer service.
What people ask us
Honest answers.
"I already eat fish."
Great. Then you may already have a good score, and the test will show it. If you are doing well, you will hear that from us too.
"Supplements are expensive."
True, and you do not want to pay for something when you do not know if it does anything. That is why two tests are included: after five months you see it for yourself.
"Six months fixed? I am not signing up for that."
I get it. That is why we tell you up front. Only after five months does a second test show something meaningful. After that you are free to stop.
"Fish oil is fish oil, right?"
On the label they look alike. In independent research, 83% of the fish oil supplements tested were oxidised. That is why we look at your blood: two tests tell you more than any advertising, ours included.
What is the omega-3 index?
The share of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in the membrane of your red blood cells, as a percentage. In the scientific literature, 8% is proposed as a target value (Harris and von Schacky, 2004). The number reflects your intake over the past months and says nothing about how you feel.
What does the ratio between omega-6 and omega-3 tell you?
Both are essential fatty acids. A Western diet usually contains much more omega-6 than omega-3, partly from vegetable oils and processed food. The home test shows that ratio next to your omega-3 index.
What does TOTOX mean?
Total oxidation value: the peroxide value and the anisidine value together. The lower, the fresher the oil. It does not have to be on the label, so you have to ask for the certificate of analysis.
How much vitamin D does the Superior Health Council (Belgium) recommend?
15 µg per day for adults and 20 µg for older people. Belgians get on average 5 µg per day from food (Sciensano, 2022-2023).
Can I combine this with blood thinners?
Vitamin K affects blood thinners of the vitamin K antagonist type, such as Marcoumar or Sintrom. If you take these, do not start without talking to your doctor. If you already take a separate vitamin D supplement, check your total daily dose.
Does this replace eating well?
No. A food supplement does not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, and it does not treat or prevent any disease.
Start with your number
Request your test.
Leave your name and email. You get our short guide to choosing fish oil straight away, and the person who sent you this page will contact you to arrange your test. Even if you do not take anything afterwards.
A food supplement does not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. This page is not medical advice. If you use blood thinners (vitamin K antagonists), are pregnant or take medication, talk to your doctor first.
